John started his career in audit and assurance services with one of the International Chartered Accounting firms. In 1987 the focus moved to business advisory services and consultancy. Today his focus is on strategic planning and monitoring monthly performance and reporting to directors.
John has a specific interest in:

- Construction and Property Development
- Petroleum and Gas Industry
- Restructuring of business and personal affairs
- Professional Secretary for Maori Incorporation
John worked for Deloitte's until 1986 when he joined Ashton Wheelans. He was appointed as a Partner in the firm in 1988 after purchasing a small client base. This has grown to the business of today.
John is married to Justine and has 4 boys and 2 girls. He has an active interest in education through his role as a board member at Christs College. His leisure interests are:
